Our story begins with a single stamp.
Founded in 2018 in the hills above San Francisco, Keenbrook Waxworks revives the lost art of sealing letters with precision tools and natural waxes.
Crafted with intention
We started with a simple question: why should correspondence feel disposable? Every item we create is meant to last generations—solid brass stamps, plant-based waxes, and engraving techniques refined over thousands of seals.
"The first seal I made was for a letter to my grandmother. That small ritual changed how I think about every message I send."
— Elias Keen, Founder
Our mission
Preserve the ritual
We believe in slowing down to honor the moment a letter leaves your hands. Every seal we ship is made to create that pause.
Use natural materials
All our waxes are blended from beeswax, plant resins, and mineral pigments. No synthetic fillers, no plastic stamps.
Support letter writers
A portion of every sale supports literacy programs and independent bookstores that keep the written word alive.
Materials and process
Each stamp begins as raw brass rod, hand-turned on a 1940s lathe. Designs are engraved letter by letter using traditional methods, then polished to a mirror finish.
Solid, nickel-free 360 brass that develops a beautiful patina over time.
Blended in small batches from filtered beeswax and damar resin for a flexible, vibrant seal.
